Welcome to Tex-Tone Pickups!
I'm glad you dropped by.  Take a look around and let me know what I can do to help you achieve your perfect guitar tone. I specialize in handmade guitar pickups, but I am equally interested in all aspects of the signal chain.  If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I would love to talk to you about practically anything that relates to guitar tone!

I'm very excited about being able to bring Tex-Tone pickups to the web. For the last few years, I have been making custom orders for players around the Dallas area and having a blast hearing the results. From Teles to Les Pauls, semi-hollows and full hollows, every guitar has its sweet spot and so does the player.  Give me a shout and let me know what I can do for you.

So what's the Deal? Why Tex-Tone?

That's a very good  question.  There are a lot of great pickups out there, so why go Tex-Tone? Everyone has an agenda and that's why we do what we do...my agenda with Tex-Tone is to make great sounding pickups with a fat, ballsy tone that sound as good when you turn them down and clean them up as they do when they are screaming through your lead channel.  I want to offer these versatile, handmade pickups at a price that the working player can afford. You no longer have to be a doctor, lawyer, or a endorsed player to be able to get great pickups (note: doctors, lawyers, and endorsed players are welcomed at this site, too) .

Tex-Tone Humbuckers and P-90's are basically vintage spec pickups, but when you make these pickups by hand, they have amazing three-dimensional sound and incredible frequency response along with crazy-good dynamics. These pickups are so articulate that they turn your often unusable volume and tone controls into real tone shaping tools.

Tony and his Tex-Tones make beautiful music!

Tex-Tone single coils are the product of my being continually disappointed in thin-sounding pickups that required me to change my rig setup to keep icepick highs from driving me crazy. I had always loved P-90's but wanted something in between that P-90- and Fender-type single coil sound.  In researching this, I found that using a Fender-style bobbin and constructing the pickup in a P-90 fashion was nothing new. Many great makers have been doing this for years. And I can tell you that this combination works great. After making and remaking this kind of pickup, I have come up with my own flavor of single coil, and that flavor is pure awesome.
